Blake Austin Griffin is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association. He played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners, when he was named sophomore National College Player of the Year. Griffin was first selected by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2009 NBA Draft, and has since won six NBA All-Star titles and five All-NBA picks since. In January 2018, Griffin was negotiating for the Detroit Pistons and played for them until 2021. In March 2021, Griffin signed with Brooklyn Nets. Griffin won four state titles at Oklahoma Christian School under the guidance of his father, head coach Tommy Griffin. Griffin played two seasons of college basketball for Sooners before entering the 2009 NBA, when he was taken over by the Clippers. In his last preseason game in 2009, he broke his left kneecap, underwent surgery and missed the entire 2009-10 season.

While playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, he received the league's Rookie of the Year Award in 2011. He was the first overall pick in the NBA Draft in 2009, coming out of the University of Oklahoma. He was traded to the Detroit Pistons in 2018. In 2021, he joined with the Brooklyn Nets.
