Deontay Leshun Wilder is an American professional boxer. He held the WBC heavy belt from 2015-2020, scoring ten defenses. With this win, Wilder became the first US heavyweight champion since 2004, the longest time in boxing history without any American heavyweight champions. In November 2020, he was ranked by BoxRec the second most active heavyweight in the world, third by the Cross Country Boxing Chart and The Ring magazine. Wilder started boxing quite late, participating in this sport at the age of 20. As an amateur, he won a bronze medal in weight class at the 2008 Olympics. This led to the nickname "Bronze Bomber", which Wilder named after Joe Louis, who was known by the nickname "Brown Bomber". Wilder is especially known for his formidable punches, once defeating every opponent he has beaten. His win rate in the knockout round is 98%, with 20 kills in the first round.

Won the WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight Championship and the United States Amateur Boxing Championship in 2007.
